Next London Meeting: 19 November 2016 – Jason Monaghan

Glint CoverWe are delighted to announce that for our next London meeting, we will be welcoming Jason Monaghan with a talk entitled ‘Guernsey’s Great War in fact and fiction’.

He will be talking about the research he carried out for his latest novel ‘A Glint of Light on Broken Glass’, touching on themes that are in the book but primarily the experience of islanders during this period and what life was really like for islanders during this period. His novel begins when sixteen-year-old George is called up for the island of Guernsey’s militia, just before the Great War. This is certain to be a fascinating talk from a knowledgeable expert on so many aspects of Guernsey’s history.
