Guernsey Society Meeting

/ ABOUT

The Guernsey Society exists to promote, maintain and celebrate interest in all matters concerning the Bailiwick of Guernsey - past, present and future.

Formed in London in 1943 during the Occupation, the Society quickly became a link between the Island and those forced to live away from it. That connection remains at the heart of what we do today.

Our membership spans the globe - from Guernsey itself, across the UK, and further afield. Whether through our biannual magazine The Review, our regular meetings in Guernsey and London, or our online presence, we aim to keep alive the ‘Spirit of Guernsey’ and create a welcoming space for anyone who shares an interest in the Island.

The Society is run by a dedicated Council of volunteers who organise events, publish original research, and work on projects that preserve and promote Guernsey’s heritage. From book publishing to historical commemorations, we ensure the stories of the Bailiwick are recorded and shared for generations to come.
